Smooth, bright metallic gimps designed like traditional Japan thread, a metallic wrapped around a core fiber, but made of modern materials rather than real gold or silver. Couch these elegant fibers onto any design. Japan #7 is thicker than Japan #5. Both can be couched with the super thin Japan #1 or a silk thread like Kreinik Silk Bella. Dry clean only. Japan Thread #1
- 40 meter spools
- Super-thin, non-tarnishing thread that looks like real gold, silver or copper. Used for couching thicker threads, paillettes, and real metal threads. Can also be used in cross stitch, needlepoint or embroidery for light details or backstitching.
Japan Thread #5
- 10 meter spools
- Japan #5 is a wrapped thread used for surface stitches more so than in-and-out stitches. Couch it on the top of your design using a thin silk thread or Japan #1. Can also be used in long decorative stitches. Made to resemble a real metal thread.
