Easy Self Finishing 4" Leather Ornament in Assorted Colors
Introducing a new way to finish your ornaments! This do it yourself leather ornament makes it fast and easy to finish your own 4" round stiff ornament. The outer diameter of the leather ornament is 4" across and it fits a needlepoint canvas design that is 3" across. The exact size of the leather opening for your canvas is about 2 and 15/16". The bow is easily removed if you don't want to include it in the finished piece. Can be used for any type of stitched ornaments: needlepoint, cross stitch, embroidery, etc.
Many finishers are past the deadline for holiday finishing this year and this is a elegant solution to the problem. That is also less expensive and faster than traditional finishing. Almost anyone with basic crafting skills could finish an ornament with this ornament form in 15 to 45 minutes depending on skill level.
(Of course the first step would be to block your needlepoint if needed and secondly trim off extra canvas till the design is just a little bit larger than the opening of the ornament, about a eighth of an inch larger is good or a few rows beyond the design)
The instructions on how to do it.
- Expose the sticky surface by gently scoring and lifting the 3M paper.
- Center your canvas carefully and press down from the center to the edges.
- Tuck the edges under the leather trim using a blunt flat instrument.
