A Stitch In Time has no catalog; however many of our suppliers have websites. As you navigate this site many links are available. Let us know what you find and we will help you get it. Filling special orders is one of our many customer services.
Come to visit when you are in the neighborhood. For over 30 years A Stitch In Time has been serving people in the Jacksonville area and from all over the United States. The shop is easily accessible from I-95 (Exit 346B traveling south and Exit 345 traveling north) to University Blvd. West. The shop is a mile away on the right. Turn in just past the Dollar Tree building.
You will find a wide variety of items for knitting, needlepoint and cross stitch. Crochet thread, tatting supplies, embroidery books, hardanger supplies, net darning supplies and silk ribbon are also carried.
Mailing out your orders happens everyday at A Stitch In Time. Call or e-mail your order and it will be sent promptly via US mail or UPS.
A Stitch In Time sponsors an on-going community service project, Warm Up America. We collect and distribute yarn to knitters and crocheters who turn in completed afghans throughout the year. Every December we give over 100 afghans to local facilities who work with the homeless.
At A Stitch In Time teaching is happening all the time. Individual sessions are available on any technique shown in the shop. Group sessions are offered periodically on special projects or techniques. Call or check the newsletter for the schedule.
Every first Saturday we offer Brush Up Your Knitting. This is a 2 hour session ($10 fee) for you to bring any project, ask questions and share ideas about knitting with the group. Rebecca shares her extensive knowledge of knitting techniques as she helps to expand your skills. Sign up early for the morning or afternoon group. It fills up fast!
The second Saturday of the month we offer Brush Up Your Needlepoint. This is a 2 hour session ($10 fee). Lois will help with stitch selection, thread choices, and color planning. Bring a current project, stitch awhile, and renew your enthusiasm.
Turning your needlework into a finished project is another service we offer. Pillows, wall hangings, stockings, ornaments, stuffed-to-stand objects are examples of the many finishing techniques we offer. Bring or send your needlework with fabric if possible. We can make twisted cord for the seams or cover piping cord with your fabric.
