Malabrigo Arroyo is on it's way to the store and is expected to be here January 3rd.  This sport superwash merino is new to Malabrigo and was quite lovely when seeing it in person at the Columbus TNNA show.  We're expecting 9 different colors including Archangel and Indiecita.

Here's some cool new arrivals in our shop.

Frabulous Fibers Felted Pins, Bags and Pouches. These pretty and cute felted items are hand made in Kathmandu.

We also just got a large order from Namaste. Including a large variety of Buddy Cases, these colorful leather cases are the perfect size to hold your needles, scissors and other small accessories, and at $19 they make a great Christmas Present for any stitcher.

In the yarn department we just received some gorgeous vibrant colors of Katia Triana Lux which is a ribbon yarn that ruffles as you knit along the edge. These pictures don't do the yarn justice really, the colors are much better in person. This yarn is very similar to the Tahki Stacy Charles Moda yarn and Trendsetter Flamenco yarn.

Also in yarn, a very limited run of Rowan Kidsilk Creation has made it's way to our shop. This is a silky, soft, airy, cloud of a yarn made out of 70% mohair and 30 % silk. It ruffles Included with each ball is a pattern for a scarf requiring only 1 ball when knit OR crocheted. This yarn (its picturepicture on the front pagealso a ruffling yarn, it's the Cadillac of the ruffling yarns.

Happy Thanksgiving! To give our employees a chance to celebrate the holidays and spend time with their families we will have special hours Thanksgiving week.

We will be open from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M. on Wednesday, November 23rd.
We will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 24th.
We will be open our regular hours,10 A.M. to 6 P.M., on Friday November 25th and Saturday, November 26th.

It's getting close to that time of year again. And our Christmas finishing deadline for cross-stitch and needlepoint will be November 15th this year. Due to the large amount of finishing we take in at this time of year we can not guarantee any items received after this date will be finished by Christmas. However our finishing elves will do their absolute best to finish as many projects as possible. 

We have had a variety of all new yarns arrive in the shop in the last few weeks. From Berroco we have big and beautiful tweed Blackstone Tweed Chunky, the super soft lofty Voyage, and the lush plush accent yarn Nanuk, we also have all of the newest Berroco pattern books 310-315 and Norah Gaughan Vol. 9. From Knit One Crochet Too we have the soft bamboo nylon sock yarn Pediwick, and the vibrant lacey mohair Ty-Dy Superkid. From Jojoland we have a brand new smooshy superwash chunky yarn with wonderful colors called Fantasia.

One of the most exciting new trends in yarn this year is the tape or net yarn. With these types of yarn you knit into one edge of the net and produce magnificent ruffles that will be sure to turn heads everywhere you go. The beauty of these yarns is that you can make a terrific scarf for yourself (or someone special) in just a few hours, using only the knit stitch, and it only takes one skein of yarn to make a 54" long scarf. From Trendsetter Yarns we have the delicious ruffled Flamenco yarn. And from Filatura Di Crosa we have the beautiful frothy Moda. A scarf made out of one of these would make the perfect present for someone who likes to dress up and go out for a night on the town.

We have now set a schedule so that beginning knitting and beginning crochet will be taught every month. Beginning crochet will be the 2nd Saturday of the month and beginning knitting will be the 4th Saturday of the month. It's a perfect opportunity to learn a new skill and take advantage of all of the beautiful yarns and patterns that are available here at A Stitch In Time.

Beginning Knitting - Next Session - April 23rd 10:30AM-12:30PM

Learn to cast on, knit, purl and bind off. Please bring 1 ball of smooth worsted weight yarn & one set of #7 or 8 straight knitting needles.  Please arrive early if you need help selecting materials.

Beginning Crochet - Next Session - May 14th 10:30AM-12:30PM

Learn basic crochet techniques such as single crochet, chain and double crochet. Please bring 1 ball of light colored yarn such as yellow, pink or mint and a Size “J” hook.  Please arrive early if you need help selecting materials.

Is it Christmas in April? No, we just received the newest Madeline Tosh yarn. This yarn is brand new this year. Here is a description from the Madeline Tosh website:
