We have lots of exciting new yarns arriving in the shop recently for your knitting pleasure. Heres just a sampling:

Shibui Linen, a lovely sport weight pure linen yarn perfect for summer months, linen just keeps getting softer and softer as you wear and wash it, and it lasts forever.

Shibui Sock Yarn, over a dozen new colors of this great pure merino sock yarn for your socks and shawls and lightweight projects.

Fiber Company Terra, a worsted weight silk, alpaca and merino blend with a wonderful hand and beautiful natural colors with highs and lows.

Freia Ombre Sport, new colors of one of our favorites wool and wool and silk sport weight yarns. Come in and try out a one skein project that let's the long striping colors really show off their beauty like "Zuzu's Petals" or the "Radiance Shawl".

Tahki Ripple, new colors and new models and patterns, this nubby cotton has a great texture which makes any knitting more exciting. Another one that is terrific for warm weather.

Malabrigo Worsted Weight, probably my favorite wool in the shop this worsted weight merino wool is buttery soft and hand dyed in the most vivid colors, just love it.

Plymouth Encore and Dreambaby DK new colors and patterns of these classic wool and acrylic, and acrylic and nylon yarns including a really cute little girls dress which we have a model of in the shop.

Also we have received a bunch of gorgeous hand crafted shawl pins to give your project that little extra finishing touch.

This coming Saturday December 29th knitters from the River City Knitting Guild will be meeting to knit and enjoy an afternoon of good company at the South East branch of the Jacksonville Library. The knitters will be there from 10 in the morning till about 1ish and there will be signs directing to the knit along room.

Everyone will be working on the Vignette Cardigan pattern from Knitty but you are welcome to bring whatever project you are currently working on. If you want to make your very own Vignette Cardigan we would recommend a nice worsted or aran weight yarn such as Cascade 220, Shepherd's Wool, Zara Plus, Berroco Weekend, or Tahki Soft Cotton.

In order to allow our staff to enjoy the Season, the store will be closed from Christmas Eve through Wednesday, January 2nd . Happy holidays everyone! I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoy all the time spent with loved ones. We at the shop are looking forward to the holidays too and in order to give our employees time with their friends and family this holiday season we will have the following special holiday hours this week:

We have a bunch of exciting new items arriving in the shop recently. Including a big order of new Fun Specs reading glasses including many larger magnification readers (lots of +3 all the way up to +5), I know it's harder to find strong magnification reading glasses.

In cross-stitch we have a nice selection of Pine Mountain Designs cross stitch kits, these complete kits have mini Autumn, Christmas and Halloween themes. Also from Pine Mountain we have pie pincushions that are sort of like crazy quilting, great way to use up small scraps of fabric. Lizzie Kate's collection of Snow Belles arrived, along with Flora McSample's 2012 Ornament, Joy to the World, and a Boxer with the best saying. "Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain."

In knitting we have Noro Karuta a chunky weight beautiful silk, wool, and cotton blend with eye opening shaded colorways. Lucci Yarn's Lucatape, 110 yards of sequined joy perfect for the holidays. Malabrigo Finitio, it's some of the softest wool ever, a sport weight yarn dyed in subdued (well by Malabrigo's dazzling standards) colors. We also have the newest issue of Jane Austen Knits and Knit Scene.

We are glad to be hosting a Bettie Ray Designs trunk show for the next several weeks. Known for her classical stockings with charming santas, delicate florals, classical bird designs, and child's director chairs there is something for many different tastes and styles. We have many pillows, christmas stockings, oranments, stand ups, directors chairs, and scissor cases in the trunk show. And during the show Bettie Ray Canvases are 15% off!

From now till August 21st we are happy to host a trunk show from Princess and Me.
