Just a quick note about what should be a fun class coming up. We're going to be teaching a basic sock class. If you were previously too intimidated to try making a pair on your own, now you can join in a group that will meet over the course of 3 weekends in June and will learn all about making socks. They're super fun to make, and not too hard to learn, I promise! Learn more here.

We have a couple of great upcoming needlepoint trunk shows to announce. First we will have a trunk show from Susan Roberts Needlepoint from May 24th - June 14th. There will be a wide range of canvases including smaller projects, medium sized pieces that would make great pillows, and there will be a nice selection of beautiful Christmas stockings. Then in July we have a treat from Labours of Love Needlepoint. From them we will have a trunk show of magnificent clip on birds and butterflys. Many of the birds and butterflies have stitch guides available. For the birds you can either make these into a 3 dimensional bird or stitch each side individually and have a pair of flat birds, one for you to keep and one to give away to a special person.
We have lots of new items arriving in the shop recently.
For knitters, Blue Heron owner, Demian, made a surprise visit with a carload of cash and carry yarn.Their hand dyed yarns are some of the lovliest in the industry We now have a large inventory of beautiful Rayon Metallic, Cotton Rayon Seed, Egyptian Mercerized Cotton, and Cotton Rayon Twist. We also had a large box arrive from Crystal Palace Yarns with a bunch of new colors of Mochi Plus, Mini Mochi, and Party ribbon for your knitting enjoyment. And finally we have received new colors of Zara and Tara Tweed from Tahki Yarns.
We have just priced two big needle orders from Knitter's Pride and Hiya Hiya. We bought a few sets of Knitter's Pride "Dreamz" interchangeables. We also added to our growing inventory of the new high tech carbon fiber "Karbonz" needles.Of course due to popular demand we re ordered "Sharp Hiya Hiya's". Speaking of the "Karbonz" I've just used them on a cowl I was making.and I really loved knitting with them. They have very nice metal points so it's easy to see and get into small stitches. Also, the joints and the needles themselves are extremely smooth so stitches glide across them. The carbon fiber maintains a nice warm feel similar to a wooden needle.
Cross Stitcher's should be happy to hear that the Nashville Show was a great success. We brought back dozens of new charts from all the favorite designers such as Lizzie Kate, Blackbird Designs, Chessie & Me, JBW, and many many more. Some of the designers released great limited edition kits only available at the show. We also added a lot of new accessories like beautiful scissors from Dovo and Premax.
Hope everyone is enjoying our beautiful Spring weather. TheBirds are singing and azaleas are ready to pop open... Happy Spring Stitching !! Susan
